On using the Malikah Curriculum as a chapter lead
If you are committed to ongoing facilitation of Malikah materials, we ask that you choose to stay committed to our organization as an official Malikah Chapter Lead. You would be connected to our Malikah network, and could exist within an institution, CBO, or social enterprise. In this context, you would be working closely with the Malikah team and maintain regular syncs and check-ins to ensure updated training, quality control, communications and evaluations processes. Malikah Chapter Leads must be committed to the aforementioned guidelines and also to monthly syncs while facilitation is ongoing. Malikah Chapter Leads and Organizers are also committed to representing the values and brand of Malikah during the duration of their commitment to the organization. Malikah Chapter Leads or Organizers could be paid for their labor through agreements with our partners, and are available upon request.
Payment Model and Financial Accessibility
Malikah models our financial costs on the model of various other movement programs, including Transforming Freedom. We want to ensure our programs are as accessible as possible to everyone who is interested in organizing for safety, power and justice for women in our communities. The true cost of this program per participant is $4,725. We are offering this on a sliding scale from $200 to $3,000 to participate and the payment decision is completely honors based. We urge you to reflect on your network, the institutions that can help subsidize and how much you’re able to contribute. Every extra dollar you can afford or fundraise for this program makes a huge difference in making sure our small grassroots organization can stay afloat and continue to offer empowering programs like this one.
For 2022, this program will have limited scholarships for accepted applicants who identify as Latinx, Indigenous and/or Black. The program will also be free for any affiliate organization or member of Movement Voter Project.
New Chapter Leads who are not part of the MVP program, will be offered a small stipend for the programs you host in your community. We want to honor your labor and are offering $50 per training for up to three training sessions. That means you can make up to $150 through the program.
